CRG-2013.jpg

Pedro Hiltbrand and Felice Tiene earned a very good position for the final stages of the first round of the European CIK-FIA Championship in KF underway at La Conca. Both will have good chances to score a good result. Eliseo Martinez is the best in KF Junior.

Solid start for CRG in La Conca's first round of the European CIK-FIA KF and KF Junior Championship. Several good performances in a crescendo from practice to qualifying heats make CRG's works team -- reigning champion in KF following the 2013 title won by Max Verstappen -- quite positive for the remainder of the weekend.
.

CRG works team fielded 4 drivers in KF and 4 in KF Junior and turned out to be competitive and ready to slide in among the main interpreters of the European series, especially in KF where Felice Tiene and Pedro Hiltbrand already showed the pace necessary to fight for the victory, while Dionisios Marcu and Sidney Gomez have been a bit more unlucky so far.

Life is going to be a bit more complicated for the youngsters racing in KF Junior, as Eliseo Martinez, Mauricio Baiz, Konstantinos and Archie Tillett are committed to emerge in this quite lively category. The season debut has been positive in a weekend characterized so far by a crescendo of results and a constant improvement, despite a few incidents slowing down some of the team's works drivers.

CRG-2013.jpg

HILTBRAND AND TIENE VERY QUICK IN KF

In KF the Spaniard Pedro Hiltbrand and Felice Tiene confirmed to be very quick and put in very fast lap times in qualifying and are respectively in third and sixth absolute place after the heats, which gives them quite good chances for the final stages to be held on Sunday. The Romanian driver Dionisios Marcu and the Venezuelan Sidney Gomez will have to run the repechage race instead, as the first experienced some technical inconveniences and the latter was involved in a racing incident in the heats.

MARTINEZ THE BEST IN KF JUNIOR

The Spaniard Eliseo Martinez has been the quickest of the CRG lot in KF Junior, as he currently stands fourth absolute at the end of the heats. He could have obtained an even better place if he were not involved in some contacts with rivals in his final heat. The Briton Archie Tillett also earned access to the final. The Venezuelan Mauricio Baiz and the Greek Konstantinos will have to run the repechage race instead.

CRG-2013.jpg

CRG KF TITLE HOLDER

The new title campaign will be an interesting challenge also from the technical side as CRG will try to confirm the quality of its chassis that last year won the European KF Championship with Max Verstappen. CRG will be using TM engines prepared by KF 2013 title winner GFR and by Galiffa both in KF and KF Junior.

THE 5 ROUNDS

The European KF and KF Junior Championships will be battled out in five rounds this year. Following La Conca opener, the second round will take place on June 1st for both categories in Zuera (Spain). On June 15 KF will be on track at Genk in Belgium, while KF Junior will resume from Sweden in Kristianstad on July 27. A RICH SHOWCASE FOR CRG

CRG is strong with a particularly rich list of European KF and KF Junior Championships won, starting from last year's one secured by Max Verstappen in KF. In the previous years category names were different but technically equivalent to nowadays' and CRG secured the KF title with Nolè (2006), Bocchi (2003), Thonon (2002), Hamilton (2000), Pocelet and Campanico (1998), Pantano (1996 and 1995), Beggio (1992), Zanardi and Schumacher (1987) and Muller (1996). CRG-2013.jpg

Positive closure of WSK Super Master Series for CRG, as Felice Tiene gained a very good second place in KF, Davide Forè a third in KZ2 and Muizzuddin another third place in 60 Mini, that awarded the very young driver of team Gamoto with the second place in the championship. Mauricio Baiz fourth in KF Junior.

The stop in Muro Leccese at La Conca for the third and last round of the WSK Super Master Series turned out to be a particularly interesting round for CRG's colors. A constant presence on the podium highlighted the drivers performance, starting from Felice Tiene who secured a great second place in KF that allows to be hopeful ahead of the forthcoming international CIK-FIA races.

CRG-2013.jpg

EXCELLENT SECOND PLACE FOR FELICE TIENE IN KF

Felice Tiene has been a brilliant interpreter of the final racing day at La Conca, as he produced a flawless KF weekend on his CRG kart powered TM by GFR. He ended his efforts with a good second place behind Ilott Callum on Zanardi. Tiene slided in top positions since qualifying and came out of heats in fourth place, result followed by the fifth in his Prefinal. He then improved the chassis and engine setup ahead of the Final, where he put in a stunning comeback race that saw Tiene ending in an excellent second position. He gained this place very early on, taking easily all his direct rivals, exception made for Ilott.

Very good sixth position for the Spaniard Pedro Hiltbrand, who confirms to be among the best of this category in this race too. Some problems affected the Romanian driver Dionisios Marcu instead – who suffered an inconvenience to a tire – but in the Final he put in a comeback from the back of the grid to P20.

The Venezuelan driver Sidney Gomez was unfortunately involved in an incident at the start of his Prefinal and therefore could not gain access to the Final.

CRG-2013.jpg

FORE’ ON THE PODIUM IN KZ2

CRG's flag has been waved by Davide Forè, who has been racing in KZ2 with team DTK. As hoped for, the Italian driver promptly recovered from the two previous races in WSK Super Master and came back among the best of his category, securing a podium finish with a truly deserved third place that can be seen as a good premise to the international CIK-FIA season. Forè was sixth in the Prefinal and in the Final he quickly gained several positions and installed himself in third place behind Ardigò and Thonon, keeping it all the way until the flag. Forè will be heading to Dallas, United States, for an extra race with CRG USA in the first round of the “triptyque” of the “Pro Tour” series scheduled for next 4 May.

CRG-2013.jpg

BAIZ FOURTH IN KFJ'S CLASSIFICATION

Not much of luck for CRG in KF Junior. The former classification leader, the Venezuelan Mauricio Baiz, was at the debut with CRG's works team and did struggle a bit to find the right setup, but managed to recover in the Prefinal and Final from an unlucky incident he was involved in one heat. He gained P17 but was penalized in the final race due to an wrong maneuver. Baiz ended fourth in the championship, behind Ahmed (winner of the Final), Ticktum and Leonardo Lorandi.

The Spanish driver of CRG Eliseo Martinez also experienced some difficulties. In the Final he had to contempt himself with P18 after being 10th in the Prefinal and in a promising 16th after the heats.

The young Briton Archie Tillett failed to gain access to the Final due to the retirement at the first lap of his Prefinal, but he displayed a good competitiveness throughout the weekend on his CRG chassis pushed by TM engine by Galiffa Team.

CRG-2013.jpg

MUIZZUDDIN SECOND IN THE 60 MINI'S CHARTS

CRG's colors have also been protagonists in 60 Mini where team Gamoto and the Malaysian driver Muizzuddin Abdul Gafar tried to get the title until the end, following the good results harvested in the previous race of Castelletto. In La Conca, Muizzuddin, on CRG/Hero powered by LKE, fought for top positions but at the end he crossed the Final's line in third behind Abrusci and Fusco. This result was worth a splendid second place in the championship though.

SUNDAY QUOTES

Felice Tiene (KF): “I put in quite a nice recovery in the Final, which was worth the second place. I had a crescendo of results but I still missed some speed to fight for the victory. In the next days we will have to work to fill that small gap that did not allow me to aim to the victory. This is our objective, but I come home from La Conca quite hopeful ahead of the forthcoming round of the European CIK-FIA Championship that will take place on this very same track next 11 May.”

Davide Forè (KZ2): “I am happy on my third place. I still missed a bit of speed to catch the first two but I am happy as I improved the performance of the first two races. We did a crucial step forward to aim to the victory. It has been a tough work but we have done it. We will shortly start to focus on the European championship but for now I just want to enjoy this podium. I'd like to thank my mechanic, TM and the whole team for this good result.”

KF Junior classification leader Mauricio Baiz to debut with CRG. Team Gamoto chasing the title in 60 Mini.

Muro Leccese will be housing the third round of WSK Super Master at the International Circuit La Conca. This is going to be the final act of the series that, together with the two rounds of the WSK Champions Cup, opened the first part of the international 2014 karting season.

VERY GOOD POTENTIAL IN KF
CRG will get to La Conca with a good potential in KF as Felice Tiene will be quite motivated to secure a solid result in KF after the good performance he put in at the last race in Castelletto (Pavia). Alongside Tiene, CRG will also be represented by the Spaniard Pedro Hiltbrand, the Venezuelan driver Sidney Gomez and the Romanian Dionisios Marcu.

CRG-2013.jpg

BAIZ TO THE DEBUT IN KF JUNIOR
A good novelty will characterize CRG's weekend in KF Junior as the young and very quick Venezuelan driver Mauricio Baiz will join forces with the team. He is fighting for the WSK Super Master title after the double victory in Castelletto's Prefinal and Final, results that launched him on top of the charts. Baiz will debut with CRG works team and he will afterwards run the whole CIK-FIA international season wearing the Italian firm's colors. Together with Baiz, CRG will also field the Spaniard Eliseo Martinez and the Briton Archie Tillett.

CRG-2013.jpg

FORE’ HUNTING FOR A COUNTER IN KZ2
CRG colors will be defended by Davide Forè in KZ2 at La Conca. The Italian will be racing with the Polish team DTK. After the first two unlucky rounds of Sarno and Castelletto, Forè will try his best to make up for the lost ground and to solve those problems that affected him in this initial part of the season.

CRG-2013.jpg

In KF Felice Tiene has been quick since the beginning but a penalty in the Prefinal prevented him to hit a possible big target in the Final. Forè ended 11th in KZ2. Martinez more and more competitive in KF Junior. CRG's colors on the top step of the podium in 60 Mini with Muizzuddin and team Gamoto.

The second round of WSK Super Master Series took place in Castelletto di Branduzzo where CRG works team fielded some of its drivers with the main objective of complete the preparation ahead of the forthcoming international commitments in the CIK-FIA Championships.
.

TIENE AMONG THE QUICKEST IN KF
Felice Tiene obtained a very good result in KF, on the CRG chassis pushed by a TM engine unit prepared by GFR. The CRG's driver put in a stunning comeback in the Final, that he started from P22 and ended to the sixth place under the chequered flag thanks to very quick laptimes, like the second absolute best loop completed in 48”050. This was actually the important confirmation Tiene was after: the competitiveness required to be once again among the main protagonists of the season. Should Tiene have not been handed a 5 seconds penalty due to a contact in the Prefinal – where he was second – he could have certainly aimed at the victory.

Some bad luck affected the young Romanian driver Dionisios Marcu in the Final as he was stopped by an engine problem, while the Venezuelan Sidney Gomez had to retire in the Prefinal due to a puncture and to the stewards decision following an incident.

CRG-2013.jpg

FORE’ 11TH IN KZ2
Some problems hit Davide Forè in KZ2 instead, but the driver has been always among the quickest with the Polish team DTK. Forè challenged the top drivers of the category also in Castelletto, but has been unfortunately slowed down by some inconveniences. Forè recovered from the P16 of qualifying ending the heats in eleventh place. He kept his momentum in the Prefinal and finished in eighth place, but in the Final he had to cross the line in eleventh place that did not satisfy the Italian driver despite he managed to go beyond the wall of 48 seconds.

CRG-2013.jpg

STRONG RACE FOR MARTINEZ IN KF JUNIOR
The young Spaniard Eliseo Martinez is displaying growing confidence in his debut season in KF Junior, after the excellent results obtained last year in 60 Mini. Martinez started the Final from the third row of the grid, position secured thanks to the third place obtained in his Prefinal. At the start he has been involved in an incident, but managed anyway to put in a solid comeback race ended in 13th place.

The young Briton Archie Tillett continued his apprenticeship in the very competitive International races of WSK. In Castelletto Tillett ended 21st in the Prefinal, and just missed to gain access to the Final.

CRG-2013.jpg

MUIZZUDDIN TO THE TRIUMPH IN 60 MINI
CRG colors gained the top step of 60 Mini's podium thanks to team Gamoto and its top driver, the Malaysian Muizzuddin Abdul Gafar, on CRG/Hero-LKE. He has been excellent since qualifying where he set the quickest time leading Serravalle and Abrusci, while at the end of the heats he was still on top thanks to two wins and a second place. Muizzuddin continued therefore with his winning performance in the Final where he won a very lively Final. The other driver of Gamoto, Bogdan Fetisov, was among the quickest too and ended tenth in the Final ahead of Ivan Grigorev of team DR. Muizzuddin is currently third in the championship behind Mizevych and Abrusci.

Felice Tiene's comment: “What a shame for the penalty I was handed in the Prefinal! Without it, I could have aimed to the victory. The engine was strong, at the beginning we just had to adjust the chassis to the right setup. This has been the first race on Dunlop tires, but we nevertheless quickly got the right setup done. I am really optimistic ahead of the remainder of the season. In two weeks time I will be competing in the third round of WSK in Muro Leccese mainly to prepare for the first round of the European KF Championship, that will take place next 11 May on the same circuit of La Conca.”

Lennox secured an exceptional win in Genk's debut in the Rotax Max Euro Challenge DD2. Very good performance also by the American Daniel Formal. In Senior, De Brabander recovered up to P6 in the debut with CRG. Bad luck for Eliseo Martinez and Jose Enrique Brito in Junior.

CRG works team put in a bold performance at the circuit of Genk (Belgium) in the first round of the Rotax Max Euro Challenge, that climaxed with the victory scored by Jordon Lennox-Lamb in DD2, the category with the shift. This convincing result by CRG and Lennox highlighted the quality of the Dark Rider Evo chassis in a weekend ended with the exciting and victorious sprint to the line.
.

CRG-2013.jpg

CRG AND LENNOX TO THE TRIUMPH IN DD2

Jordon Lennox-Lamb triumphed in DD2 despite having to put in a comeback Final due to an incident he was involved in the Prefinal, when leading the race. An overwhelming recoup put the Briton back in the challenge for the victory as he engaged a duel with Thonon. Lennox eventually managed to take the win in the sprint to the line that awarded all the efforts of the team. Lennox also set the fastest lap of the race.

CRG-2013.jpg

Good performance in DD2 also for the American Daniel Formal, who was at the first experience in the Euro Challenge with CRG works team. He took a very good sixth place, while the German Luka Kamali made it to the Final, but eventually ended to in 20th place.

The final classification of DD2 confirmed the competitiveness of CRG's chassis as also witnessed by the fourth place obtained by the Dutch driver Bryan Eerden in force at team PSL Karting and by the eighth place of the British Joshua Collings of team MSport Karting.

CRG-2013.jpg

DE BRABANDER TO THE FORE IN THE SENIOR

The Belgian champion Yannick De Brabander displayed a good level of competitiveness in the season debut with CRG in Rotax Senior. He completed his efforts for the weekend securing the sixth place in the Final after recovering all the way from the 19th place of the Prefinal and the 26th of the heats. Solid weekend also for the Polish driver Lukasz Bartoszuk, who had a crescendo of results up to the 13th place of the Final, while the Romanian Dionisios Marcu has been a bit unlucky as some incidents relegated him to the 24th final position. Remarkably, Bartoszuk set the fastest lap of the race in the Final.

CRG-2013.jpg

UNLUCKY MARTINEZ AND BRITO IN JUNIOR

Eliseo Martinez and Jose Enrique Brito have had an unlucky weekend as they have been both involved in incidents that prevented them from gaining access to the Final. Martinez had a partial satisfaction of setting the fastest lap of the race in the repechage race after the heats though, which highlighted once more his competitiveness.

Euan Jeffery, team manager CRG: “The first round of the Rotax Euro Challenge in Genk has definitely been positive for CRG. Jordon's Final in DD2 has been stunning and Daniel Formal had a good debut in Euro Challenge. Four CRG chassis made it to the top eight in DD2: a good result highlighting the value of our product. De Brabander in Senior had a solid weekend, as Bartoszuk and Marcu despite some incidents that relegated them to a start from the back. Similarly, Martinez and Brito have been penalized by some incidents in the Junior, but we are very happy on the performance of all our drivers.”

Jordon Lennox-Lamb: “It has been a great Final! A great spectacle for everyone. CRG proved once again all its quality also in Rotax, with the icing on the cake of the fastest lap of the race. A big thank you goes to CRG for allowing me to run this race!”

Daniel Formal: “I am happy with the sixth place on my first European race of the year. I could have actually obtained a better result, but I am happy anyway. I would like to congratulate my team mate Jordon on his fantastic race and victory. Finally, I'd like to thank my mechanic, CRG and PSL Karting.”

NEXT ROUND

CRG-2013.jpg

CRG works team got some positive indications from the WSK Super Master opener. Tiene and Federer have been among the best in the KZ2 Prefinal. Lennox has been stopped by a technical problem, Forè alike. Dionisios and Gomez to the fore in KF. Martinez kept growing in KFJ. Team Gamoto close to the podium in 60 Mini.

Despite the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno did not award concrete results in the first round of the WSK Super Master Series, CRG drivers have put in strong performances throughout, obtaining positive indications that will certainly be useful for the coming international CIK-FIA rounds.

The round of Sarno has been particularly useful to CRG for testing chassis, setups, tires and engines ahead of the forthcoming CIK-FIA appointments, like the KZ World Championship that will take place on the very same Italian circuit later on in the year. The changing weather conditions experienced during the weekend as sun alternated to heavy or light rain spoiled a bit the final outcome of the race.

COMPETITIVENESS CONFIRMED IN KZ2
CRG's team confirmed all its competitiveness in KZ2 even though the final result did not come due mainly to a series of unlucky episodes. The soaked with rain tarmac of the Final saw Felice Tiene (CRG-Maxter) ending in 18th place, after he came out of qualifying heats strong with high expectations; Fabian Federer (CRG-Maxter) was forced to the retirement instead despite being very quick in Prefinal, where he crossed the finish line in an excellent fourth place. Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG-Maxter) could not make it to the Final due to a trivial technical problem stopping his chances in the Prefinal where he has been one of the most combative drivers on track. Andrea Dalè (CRG-Maxter) ended in P20 with his private team, after setting the third absolute time in qualifying and winning one heat. Davide Forè (CRG-TM) and team DTK had to retire in the Prefinal due to a tire failure, Giovanni Martinez (CRG-Maxter) had similar fate due to an incident. The victory in the Final went to Lammers (FK) from Ardigò (Tony Kart) and Kozlinski (Intrepid).

POSITIVE RACES FOR DIONISIOS AND GOMEZ IN KF
A crescendo of results characterized the weekend Dionisios Marcu (CRG-TM) in KF all the way to the Prefinal, exception made for a heat where he has been involved in an unlucky incident right after the chequered flag. The disappointment for Dionisios came in the Prefinal though, where a problem to the carburetor stripped him from a sure access to the Final. Credit where credit's due for the new-entry Sidney Gomez (CRG-TM) who closed the Prefinal with a great P8, but was later on very unlucky in the Final, where he had to start from the back of the grid due to an electric problem. The Venezuelan driver had finally to give up halfway through. The Final was won by Basz (Tony Kart) from Ilott (Zanardi) to Mazepin (Tony Kart).

MARTINEZ PROTAGONIST IN KF JUNIOR
Eliseo Martinez (CRG-TM) had very good chances in KF Junior, as he is getting more and more at ease in his debut season in the higher category after the success obtained last year in 60 Mini with team Gamoto. The CRG's Spanish driver managed to get a front row start in Prefinal, but he had to concede several positions on the wet tarmac of the Final and eventually had to retire in what turned out to be a very unlucky race to him. The victory went to Ticktum (Zanardi) from Lorandi (Tony Kart) to Ahmed (FA Kart).

TEAM GAMOTO CLOSE TO THE PODIUM IN 60 MINI
Team Gamoto and its drivers have been among the main interpreters of 60 Mini, but the Final result went missing also in this category for CRG, despite the good results scored in qualifying heats with Ivan Grigorev, Abdul Gafar Muizzuddin and Dennis Hauger. Team Gamoto's drivers had to pay the toll in the heat of Prefinals and only Hauger managed to show his value in the Final where he secured the fourth place behind Szyszko (Tony kart), Vidales (FA Kart) and Skeed (Top Kart).

In KZ2 Tiene high up in the standings after the heats, alike Lennox that was stopped by an incident though. Solid performance for Dalè until the retirement in the last heat. Good debut for Gomez in KF. Dionisios involved in an incident. Martinez among the best in KF Junior. Team Gamoto protagonist in 60 Mini.

Exciting spectacle at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno where the first round of WSK Super Master is under way. After qualifying held on Friday, Saturday's heats gave a clearer picture of the situation and CRG's works team collected some positive indications.

CRG-2013.jpg

TIENE AMONG THE BEST OF KZ2
In KZ2 Jordon Lennox-Lamb and Felice Tiene, both onCRG-Maxter, have often been among the top players always putting in very good performances. Unfortunately though, Lennox had been put out by an incident in the last heat and his classification had been messed up a bit as he now stands 20th in the classification after completing two good comeback races in the other heats, where he secured a third and fifth place. Tiene obtained the absolute eighth place thanks to two sixth places and a fourth place. Some problems slowed down Fabian Federer (19th) on CRG-Maxter and Davide Forè (15th) on CRG-TM run by team DTK.

Very unlucky day for Andrea Dalè (CRG-TM), who had been under the spotlight with his private team since qualifying, where he set the third quickest place, a performance that was confirmed with the victory of one heat. The Italian driver was then forced to give up in the third and last heat. A series of incidents slowed down also Giovanni Martinez (CRG-Maxter).

GOMEZ PUTTING IN A VERY GOOD DEBUT IN KF
The Venezuelan driver Sidney Gomez (CRG-TM) had a very positive debut in KF even if the classification did not award him the way he deserved. He is currently 25th but ended the other heats with a good fourth and eighth place. Dionisios Marcu (CRG-TM) is a little bit more to the back in P28 due to a technical problem at the start of the third heat. He run a fierce race nevertheless, as he kept racing despite the consequences of an incident at the end of the second heat.

SOLID MARTINEZ IN KF JUNIOR
In KF Junior Eliseo Martinez (CRG-TM) produced a good performance and is currently sixth absolute after two third places and a sixth in the three heats. Two more heats on Sunday morning will delineate the starting grid before the Prefinals and Finals.

TEAM GAMOTO TO THE FORE IN 60 MINI
