WSK INTERNATIONAL SERIES ROUND 3: STUNNING VICTORY FOR CRG-MAXTER IN KF1!

The CRG - Maxter champion Arnaud Kozlinski conquers the first step of the podium in the major class KF1 at the South Garda Karting track in Lonato, thanks to an impressive performance showing his great driving abilities.

After some problems in the qualification heats, that force him to start from the 21st position on the prefinal starting grid, the French driver made an incredible recovery to the 6th place. Starting the final in the leading group together with his team mates Thonon and Guignet, Kozlinski is able to reach the first place after just a few laps and to keep it until he crosses the finishing line.

Great performance also for Jean Philippe Guignet, who run the final at the top levels fighting with Kozlinski for the lead of the group and finishing the race at the 3rd position. Thanks to this great result Guignet is now at the 4th place of the general classification.

Unfortunate Sunday for our Belgian champion Jonathan Thonon. After missing by an hair's breadth the superpole on Saturday and finishing respectively 3rd and 1st in the two qualification heats, Jonathan starts the prefinal from the second place and he keeps his position until he crosses the finishing line. Starting second in the final, he is forced to stop after just a few laps when he was still in the second position fighting for the head of the group.

In KF2 Andrea Dalé made a good performance, obtaining respectively a first, a third and a ninth place in the qualification heats, then starting from the fourth row in the prefinal, where unfortunately he had to leave the race after just a few laps due to a collision, irreparably compromising the race.

Good race also for the other Italian driver Giovanni Venturini: after a few problems in the qualification heats he is forced to take part in the second chance heats to be qualified, but after that he is able to recover from the last row to the 18th place in the prefinal. Thanks to his fast laps he then misses by an hair's breadth the top ten recovering further positions in the final and finishing 12th.

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS - ANGERVILLE: DOMINATION CRG-MAXTER

Angerville– May 4, 2008 – Arnaud Kozlinski stands out starting from race 1 of the European Championship KF1 - first round in Angerville, France and he seals the domination CRG - Maxter with the best lap.

Our French driver started building his success since the qualification heats, where he was one of the major protagonists with two second places that allowed him to start race 1 from the first row.

In race 2 Kozlinski suffered a 10 seconds penalty because he crossed the starting line too fast, according to the new CIK-FIA regulations, then due to a lack of understanding with his team mate Guignet he is forced to stop fighting for the victory just a few laps before the end of the race.

Jean-Philippe Guignet in any case thanks to a great and aggressive performance conquered the third step of the podium.

Arnaud Kozlinski is now at the third place of the general classification with 25 points.

The KZ1 has been ruled by Thonon-CRG-Maxter starting with the best qualification. After the great performance of the qualification heats, Jonathan starts from the first row in race 1 with his team mate Alessandro Manetti.

After fighting with Manetti during the first laps Jonathan gains the head of the group and wins the first final with an impressive performance that leaves the second classified Lammers more than two seconds behind him.

In race 2 Thonon suffers a problem during the start that makes him go back to the 7th position, but thanks to his aggressive drive he succeeds in recovering five positions and gaining the second place just a few tenths behind Lammers.

Thonon now leads the general classification with 45 points.

CARLTON DOMINANT AGAIN FOR CRG AT MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK

April 30, 2008 (Palm Springs, Calif.) It looked for a moment that Gary Carlton may have a tough time winning the Snap-On Stars of Karting presented by the Indy Racing League's ICC finals at Miller Motorsports Park, as a DNF in the weekend's first heat race meant he would likely not start the weekend's two final races on the front row.

Indeed, Carlton wound up starting the finals from the second row, in fourth position after taking the win in the second of three heat races. The first final saw Carlton's CRG, from fourth, move into third at the start and then into second after banging wheels a few times with Alex Speed. It was only a few short laps later that Carlton caught and passed polesitter Jordy Vorrath to take the first final.

In the second final, Carlton jumped into second from fourth at the start before passing Vorrath five laps in and racing off to his third win of the year.
Impressively, teammate Jacob Neal, who sat out all of the Saturday competition because of the flu, started last in both finals before running his CRG up to ninth in the first one and fifth in the second. It was good progress, especially considering it was Neal's ICC debut after competing in ICA last season.

Riley Reyes, SSC Racing's youngest member, made his Stars of Karting debut at Miller Motorsports Park in the Cadet class. After qualifying an impressive sixth aboard a CRG Cadet New Age-2, Reyes learned the ropes of Stars competition as he carded a fifth and an eleventh on Saturday. Sunday, however, Reyes broke through to win the day's heat race his first victory of the year. This bumped him up the grid and meant he would start the mains in fourth place. The mains saw Reyes finish fourth and sixth, capping an impressive weekend of racing for the SSC Racing squad.

CAMERON MOTORSPORTS CLAIMS THREE TOP FIVES AT STARS OPENER

Hamilton, Ontario – April 12, 2008 – The Cameron Motorsports (CMI) elite karting team had another successful weekend in Florida as the squad competed in the opening round of the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series. With the first event taking place at the Ocala Gran Prix facility in Ocala, Florida, CMI drivers were looking to start their national title chase off right.

a

Leading the charge were Intercontinental C (ICC) pilots Mike Vincec and Cody Jolly. After progressing nicely through the heat races, Vincec would claim CMI’s first podium in 2008 Stars of Karting competition with a solid third place result. Proving it was no fluke, Vincec continued his success in final two as he claimed another top five result to wrap up his weekend. Texan pilot Cody Jolly had some problems in final one but still managed to secure a solid seventh place finish against North America’s best shifter pilots. Improving in final two, Jolly battled the weather and wet conditions to score his first podium result as he crossed the strip in the third position.

Ohio pilot David Carmendy was looking for two top ten results but fell just short on this weekend. After a disappointing non-finish in final one, Carmendy turned up the wick in final two and claimed the 11th position. Carmendy will be back with the CMI team at the New Castle Motorsports Park event in late May where he has always been fast and should challenge for the win. (You say he fell short of two top tens, but he didn’t get any!)

a

The Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) pilot and reigning F1K Junior Canadian National Champion was successful in his first start in national competition. Competing against national champions, race winners and some of the country’s best is challenging but Canadian Jeffery May rose to the challenge. May qualified his CRG in the 13th position just over .200 off the pole. After being punted off in the first two heat races, May battled hard in heat race three to score a solid tenth place result. Due to not finishing two heat races, May was forced to start way down the running order for both feature events. With very little experience in the rain, May had an early departure from final one as an incident in front of him left him no chance to avoid it. In final two, May was progressing through the field nicely and was running in P13 before a spin relegated him down to a 17th place result.

Cadet pilot Kurtis De Boer garnered a 27th and 23rd place results in only his fourth national event. The young Canadian has proven to be fast and can fight with some of the top Cadet drivers. De Boer will take some time to complete an intensive test program before the next event.

“We had some good results but were hoping for more,” explained Cameron Motorsports Danielle Duffy. “Nobody goes to a race hoping to finish tenth, everyone wants to win. We will be back at the next event bigger and better and I am confident we will be atop the podium.

SSC EAST: STARS OF KARTING OCALA REVIEW

“Team continues to roll along in 2008”

Ocala, Florida – April 8, 2008 – SSC East had another very strong outing at the opening round of the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series event at the Ocala Gran Prix facility just north of Orlando, Florida. Looking to get the season started off right, SSC East drivers and tuners were prepped and ready for the big event.

Competing in the headline Intercontinental C (ICC) division was two-time defending national champion Gary Carlton, rookie pilot Arie Ouimet and sophomore driver Alex Manglass. As expected, Carlton led the trio of SSC East competitors as he was fast in each and every session. In qualifying, Carlton sat in the pits and waited until the very end to turn his flying lap and steal the pole position. Through the heat races, Carlton was dominant leading every single lap, taking three victories and the pole position for both feature events.

a

Looking to start his march towards a third national title, Carlton lead the first feature only to retire midway through the event with a stuck powerplant, leaving him dejected but determined to make up for it in final two. After another terrific start, the California resident led every single lap to take the checkers ahead of some of the country’s best.

a

Looking to gain experience in ICC in ’08, Ouimet would consistently run inside the top ten. Looking to challenge for a top five result, the young Arie had an eighth place finish in feature one but failed to finish the second final after being shoved off the circuit and through a pool of water that had gathered on the side of the track.

a

Manglass, who partnered with tuner Joe White Jr., ran fast and consistent laps throughout the weekend. With the goal to make progress and complete every race lap, Manglass did just that and is looking forward to the next event.

a

Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) pilot Jarvis Gennari struggled through Friday’s practice sessions but turned up the wick when it mattered on Saturday and Sunday. The talented Floridian pilot and reigning JICA national champion powered through the field to claim a second and third place podium results and left the first event in a familiar spot, on top the point standings.

a

A fantastic weekend for SSC East’s racing team. The National ICC Champion shows his domination. The National JICA Champion shows his never give up attitude. An ICC rookie nipping on the heels of the big boys and a sophomore driver teaming with one of the sports legends and making a run for ‘08. SSC East would like to thank all of its drivers for great results as well as their tuners Diego Val Verde, Tom Buckley, Joe White Jr. and Enzo Chiovitti Jr.

PODIUM FOR HRS MOTORPSORT IN SEASON OPENER

a

HRS Motorsport is one of the most successful racing teams in the World of Rotax Max Racing. The English-based CRG Team is led by former European champion Tristram Oman and has many victories and titles to their name in the Rotax Euro Challenge. This year, the team's star driver Ben Cooper is defending his title as the Senior Max champion from 2007.

The first round of the Rotax Euro Challenge was hosted last weekend by the Sologne Karting circuit in Salbris, France. Similar to previous years, the venue being one of the best CIK-homologated tracks in Europe, allowed some great racing, although the predicted wet weather arrived just in time for the finals.

Former Senior Max World Finals champion Cristiano Morgado again joined the HRS squad to compete in the Rotax DD2 class. He came close to a podium position in France, finishing 4th in Sunday's final.

Ben Cooper took the final podium position finishing 3rd in the Euro final for HRS, setting the 2nd best time in the race just behind the winner. After dominating all four of his qualifying heats, Cooper was unlucky to be caught out by the weather in the pre-final but came through well in the last race.

Ben Cooper, defending champion Rotax Max:
"The weekend went well throughout testing, as we were making good progress with the kart and engine. Qualifying also went okay but the weather conditions didn't help, especially as I was in the first session when the track was at its wettest. The heats were even better as I won all four races, with some more difficult than others. The pre-final started off well as we had initially opted for the correct tyre choice, choosing slicks, but then three laps into the race the rain started coming down and I knew that the drivers that had chosen wet tyres were going to come through, so it was then all about staying on track and getting a reasonable finish. The final started off tricky but I knew that I had the pace to come through, which is what happened. I ended up in 3rd place which was a good finished from 16th on the grid and we picked up some good points."

HRS Senior Max driver Curtis Roberts also reached the final, having qualified through the repecharge to then produce a fine drive and finish 15th in the final. Team-mate Rodolpho Camarillo from Mexico unfortunately missed out on a place in the main finals, but drove well over the weekend, gaining some valuable knowledge driving in wet conditions and learning more about the European style of racing. Britain's Mark Thompson secured a respectable 6th place driving in the Max Masters.

Ryuya Fujie of Japan was the 'new kid on the block' in the HRS team in Junior Max. The talented Japanese driver was in the leading group of drivers in practice, qualifying and all the heats races, but some bad luck in the pre-final relegated him back to start grid 33 for the final, when he broke a chain. Passing many competitors, Fujie drove a great race to finish the final in 8th position.

Tristram Oman; team boss of the successful HRS Motorsport:
"An extremely mixed race meeting. With great weather on Saturday, we really got our teeth into getting everything right. At the end of our first race day, we had Ben Cooper pole in Seniors, Ryuya Fujie 3rd in Juniors and Cristiano Morgado 3rd in DD2. However with the weather changing from race to race in Sundays first finals, we found ourselves leading on the wrong side of it. A little bit of luck is always needed! Thankfully we had constant rain so our drivers were able to get the most out of our equipment and set-up. Good results, but we will be working hard between now and the next round."

CODY JOLLY IMPRESSES AT FLORIDA WINTER TOUR

a

“Strong outing for Texan pilot in Ocala” March 21, 2008 – The Cameron Motorsports (CMI) elite karting team and Cody Jolly had an excellent outing this past weekend at the final round of the Formula Kart Production’s Florida Winter Tour. Jolly, who moved full time to the shifter ranks, came home with two very strong runs and podium results at the Ocala Gran Prix facility in Ocala, Florida.

Looking to start the weekend off right, Jolly was fast during Friday’s practice sessions and was looking to turn that speed into a strong run in qualifying on Saturday morning. Teamed with Cameron Motorsports Trevor Wickens, Jolly circuited the Ocala Gran Prix (OGP) facility with the third quickest time that would see him line up just inside row two. The pre-final would see a follow the leader format as Jolly would remain in the third position.

Looking to attack early in the final, the CMI driver moved forward into P2 early and began to press for the lead. Turning the third quickest lap time of the event, the talented Texan finished on the second step of the podium in between the two championship contenders.

Sunday would prove to be a little different for the Intercontinental C (ICC) rookie as he managed to qualify his Maxter powered CRG on the front row. Looking to get the jump early and challenge for the lead, Jolly was forced to settle for P2 as they entered the first corner. The second position would be all that the Texan could garner on this weekend as he eventually finished the pre-final and final in the runner’s up spot as the CRG manufacturer managed to sweep Sunday’s podium.

“Cody did a great job this weekend,” stated CMI’s Trevor Wickens. “He is really coming into his own. He should be a force at the national level this season in Stars.”

With the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series national championship set to begin in two weeks, Jolly hopes to continue the momentum into that series and a shot at the divisional and national championships. Jolly will also travel overseas this season as the senior level pilot will compete in several International races throughout Europe.

FLORIDA WINTER TOUR: PSL TEAM TAKES FOUR VICTORIES AND TWO SHIFTER KART TITLES WITH LEESMANN AND VIDAL

Ocala, FL (March 19, 2008) –PSL Karting wrapped up the 2008 edition of the Florida Winter Tour at the sixth and final weekend of the two-group program. The third double-header weekend of the schedule took the Quebec-based CRG importer to the Ocala Gran Prix facility in Ocala, Florida on March 14-16. The weather was not typical Florida condition as strong storms cut practice short on Friday, the PSL shifter drivers scored four victories and two championships this time out, led by Californian Fritz Leesmann and Virginia’s Gus Vidal.

a

Since January, Leesmann has been the most dominant shifter kart driver on the FWT. Earning the Saturday pole by five-hundredths of a second, Fritz tucked into second at the drop of the green flag for the Prefinal. He waited until lap seven to make his move and then cruised to a five-second victory. The Final would be all Leesmann as he turned laps a full second quicker than his qualifying time to earn the win, putting the PSL logo on the top of the podium.

a

Sunday was no different as Fritz was in command all day. A blistering lap in qualifying earned him the pole and a clean start in the Prefinal allowed him to cruise to the win. After slotting into second at the start of the main event, he did not wait long to regain the top spot. Leesmann would go on unchallenged to a three-second victory, successfully clinching the FWT Pro Shifter championship. In total, Leesmann took home an impressive $7500 for his four victories and the overall crown.

Adding to the success for PSL Karting was Masters Shifter driver Gus Vidal. A regular on the road racing scene, Vidal was in the spotlight in his class on the weekend. After putting the CRG on the pole in Saturday qualifying, Vidal put in two dominant performances in the Prefinal and Final, winning both by over five seconds. With the championship fight coming down to Sunday, a winner-take-all situation, Vidal found himself in a tight battle with his primary challenger, Jason Lee. Running second to Lee in Qualifying and the Prefinal, the duo started the main event from the front row. At the start, Vidal slipped back but began to reel in the leader after getting himself situated. Once he caught the leader on lap 13, he only needed one more lap before taking over the top spot, checking out once he was presented with open track. Vidal would race unchallenged to the checkered flag with a two-second advantage and a 20-point championship victory.

SSC EAST -WKA REVIEW

TEAM CONTINUES TO ROLL ALONG IN 2008

Concord, North Carolina – March 4, 2008 – SSC East had another very strong outing at the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup event at Charlotte Motor Speedway located in Concord, North Carolina. Racing out of the SSC garage was TaG pilot Arie Ouimet and junior competitor Michael Johnson. Looking for strong results, both drivers hit the track Friday morning in preparation for the weekend’s racing action.

The young Arie Ouimet had the strongest SSC East results of the weekend as he managed to take his Vortex Rok powered CRG Road Rebel to two top ten results. Ouimet claimed the eighth position in Sundays racing action but managed a solid fourth place finish in Saturdays final.

a

“Racing inside the confines of Charlotte Motor Speedway is a great experience for all the drivers,” explained SSC representative Mark Ouimet. “The WKA provides an excellent platform for racing and the competition is very tough. We had a very good weekend and represented the CRG product line very well.”

HPV and Yamaha Junior Lite and Heavy competitor Michael Johnson made his national level debut in North Carolina and faired very well. Michael lost the use of his legs in a motocross accident and he started racing karts last year. Utilizing the CRG hand controls, Michael faired well but did not have the strong results that he hoped for.

“The SSC East/CRG Nationals is a tough chore for the nations best,” commented Johnson after the weekend. “I was happy to be out there competing and showing other drivers that I can still drive.”

IMPRESSIVE TEST SESSION FOR CARLTON, VINCEC AND LEESMANN AT THE SOUTH GARDA KARTING TRACK

The CRG North American top drivers Gary Carlton, Fritz Leesmann and Michael Vincec have been invited to Italy by CRG and Maxter for a test session at the South Garda Karting track.

a

Our three drivers arrived on Tuesday February 26th to start the three days session on the famous circuit, where several world championships took place.

a

Since the first day of tests they run really fast and achieved impressive results, confirming once again their great talent. The work at the track has been very intensive and focused both on the chassis set up and on the engines tuning.
The CRG and Maxter technical staff has been really impressed by the highly professional feedback received by the North American drivers, who were able to provide them sharp technical information that allowed the team to improve the performances obtaining the best test laps comparable to the European top drivers ones.

a

Carlton, Leesmann and Vincec, standard-bearers of our North American importers, will add this important experience to their know-how and their racing career. The 2008 season will be full of appointments for them: they will take part in the Stars of Karting Championship and two of them will also participate in some of the most important European Championships.

a

CRG and Maxter are very satisfied of the test results and we really enjoyed working with these young talented drivers, so that we decided to give them our best technical support also for the US championships.
A special thanks to SSC Racing, SSC East, Cameron Motorsports and PSL for their constant commitment that allowed the discovery of these great champions.

Unlucky weekend for Jonathan Thonon. The Belgian driver has been involved in a terrible accident just three laps before the end of the race, while he was fighting on the 5th position to catch up the head of the group. Despite Jonathan has been thrown out of the kart by the violence of the crash, he suffered just a wound in his knee that fortunately will not compromise his racing season.

FLORIDA WINTER TOUR: PSL KARTING SCORES TWO WINS AT SECOND MOROSO WEEKEND EVENT

JUPITER, FL (February 21, 2008) – PSL Karting had a good weekend at the Moroso Motorsports Park in Jupiter, Florida during the second rounds of the Florida Winter Tour, looking good when Group B hit the track, a line-up that included the Pro and Masters Shifter divisions. The Quebec-based CRG importer fielded eight drivers in these two classes, coming home with two victories on Sunday thanks in part to American pilots Fritz Leesmann and Gus Vidal.

Leesmann led the six-driver Pro Shifter PSL squad at the event, running at the front all weekend long. Qualifying on pole for Saturday’s event, Leesmann struggled with the race set-up, falling back to third in the Prefinal and fifth in the Final. The next day was a different story as the PSL crew was able to find the right set-up to turn quick laps all day long. Leesmann scored the pole again and fell back early in the Prefinal. This time, he was able to climb back for the win and then repeated the performance in the Final for his second win of the series.

The five remaining drivers scored five top-10 finishes on the weekend. After a tire issue in Qualifying on Saturday, California’s Jacob Neal came from 23rd to 13th in the Prefinal and then finished ninth in Final, repeating the same main event result on Sunday. This pair of results gave him his third straight top-10 finish in only his first two months of racing an ICC machine. PSL regular Tom Cadieux was 12th on Saturday and eighth Sunday. Florida driver Joey Riceputo recorded finishes of 14th and 10th, while Corey Rossman was 17th and 18th. Anthony Llopiz struggled on Saturday, finishing 22nd, but found the extra speed he needed for a solid 11th on Sunday.

In Masters Shifters, Gus Vidal and Michael Legrand battled for three top-five finishes, including Vidal’s victory on Sunday. The Virginia pilot qualified second on Saturday and finished in the same spot in the Final. On Sunday, Vidal put his CRG on the pole and took the unofficial Prefinal victory until being penalized four spots for running the wrong tire compound - which was handed out by the series officials. After sorting out the error, Vidal was forced to run Saturday’s tires, but it didn’t slow him down as he made up those spots to take the lead and the win. Legrand also had a solid weekend, finishing fifth on Saturday and seventh on Sunday after running has high as second.

Taking home a victory and several podium results from Moroso Motorsports Park, SSC East will look to carry their success from the Rotax weekend into the CIK portion of the racing action this coming week.

Joining Vela in the top fifteen was SSC teammate Jarvis Gennari, who was able to put together runs to sixth and 12th over the double event weekend format.

Leesmann gives Canadian CRG importer second victory of ‘08 with win in Pro Shifter

a

HOMESTEAD, FL (January 23, 2008) – PSL Karting wrapped up the first rounds of the Florida Winter Tour with the second leg of the double-weekend event at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Southern Florida with another solid team performance for the 10 drivers running under the Canadian CRG importer’s tent. A total of three podium finishes, including one victory, in just two divisions wrapped up PSL Karting’s January racing calendar.

A late addition to the PSL Karting tent for the Group B weekend was the West Coast driver Fritz Leesmann, who was making his first appearance at the Tour. Leesmann, just as he was in 2007 on the national scene, was among the fastest drivers all weekend long. Starting off on Saturday by earning the pole position in the stacked Pro Shifter category, Leesmann swept the on-track sessions with Prefinal and Final victories - earning $1,500 for the main event win. Sunday’s action saw rain early on with Fritz qualifying fourth in the wet conditions. With a damp track early, Leesman put in an impressive run to get to the lead early and held on as the track began to dry to score the Prefinal victory. Set to start the main event from the pole position, Leesmann pulled in during the warm-up lap with a broken shift lever, ending his chance at a second victory.

CRG WILL FOCUS ITS COMMITMENT ON THE WSK 2008

According to the experience made during this season in the WSK International Series, CRG has decided that this will be the only international series where the company will be officially committed, of course together with the CIK-FIA championships. This decision has been taken on the race tracks: the great efforts made by the WSK promoter allowed the series to have a great interest from the media, including the television, promoting the image of karting both on the national and international level, so that to increase the attention of the karting lovers and to enlarge the number of potential users. Moreover, the active cooperation between the promoter and the manufacturers allowed to improve the regulations so that to create a real benefit for the show and the participants. This willingness to the dialogue has been one of the reasons why CRG and its related companies have focused their attention on this international series, that in 2008 will include in its calendar three races in Italy and three races in Europe. Other manufacturers are considering the possibility to focus their commitment on the WSK and this can only provide a benefit to this reality and in general to the whole world of karting, that is too often managed and directed by people unrelated to this sport and moreover unconnected with the propaedeutical attitude that allowed karting to increase its importance worldwide.

Our driver showed once again his stunning driving ability starting from the qualification heats: he easily won the first 2 heats with a wide margin of lead on the other competitors. Unfortunately in the 3rd heat a difficult starting caused him a spin at the second bend, that forced him to start again at the end of the group. Gary made a wonderful recovery, but the two drivers just in front of him made a bad crash taking up the whole circuit width, obliging him to another starting; then a daring overtaking caused him some irreparable damage to the kart and he had to conclude the heat. These unlucky events forced him to start from the 8th place on both Finals starting grids.

The Californian driver started Final 1 recovering many positions, but he was too far from the two drivers leading the race so he finished the race on the third step of the podium. In Final 2 thanks to a great starting he immediately caught up the leading group and after a series of incredible overtaking he took the lead of the race just some laps before reaching the finishing line and he crossed it with a good lead. This fantastic performance allowed Gary to win the Championship for the second year in a row!
A big thanks to this great champion, to the PCH team and to Swedetech, that with their incredible dedication, abilities and talent allowed us to reach this important result.

a

Great performance also for Fritz Leesmann: two 8th and a 5th places in the qualification heats made him start from the third row of the Finals starting grid. The engine turning off in Final 1 forced him to start again at the end of the group, but thanks to a good recovery Fritz finished the race at the 10th position.

In Final 2 he made a great start but despite he fought hard to the end he missed by a hair's breadth the second place, anyway gaining the third step of the podium.

CIK FIA WORLD KARTING CHAMPIONSHIP - MARIEMBOURG

The KF2 World Cup and the KF1 World Championship have been an important test for the Maxter engines: the new engine evolution gave very good performances, that make us have great expectations for the future (CIK decisions permitting).

Obviously we could not expect to have wonderful results, considering that we were not allowed to operate on the engines because of the severe restrictions imposed by the CIK rules. Also in KF1, that usually is a free category, we have been prevented to make those operations that are of primary importance for the best development of the engine. Unfortunately the CIK, under the pressure of some manufacturers, is modifying the regulations that have been promised by the FIA World Council during the engines homologation period.

For the KF category's sake we hope that everything will be brought back to normal soon, then Maxter with some modifications will be able too to compete at the highest levels that are its peculiarity.

STARS OF KARTING ROUNDS 4 AND 5: GARY CARLTON WINS THE WEST CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Stunning results for the CRG colours in the last two races of the Stars of Karting Series, waiting for the grand final that will be held in October on the Vegas circuit.

In the August race, held in Shawano - WI, Michael Vincec (Cameron Motorsports) stood out the competitors achieving the first step of the podium in ICC class. Thanks to his great performance, CRG won 7 of the 8 competitions of the USA championship. Despite Mike didn't succeeded in making the best lap, he run always very fast and he has never been frightened by competitors with many more years of experience, showing an exceptional determination that allowed him to conquer the final victory.

Good result also for the young PCH driver Jacob Neal in the Sunday race: even in the first race stages he had some problems in finding the bet set-up Jacob made an exciting and hard fought race, achieving the second place and keeping it till the last lap, when an unlucky mistake made him lose a position and crossed third the finishing line.

The round 5, held on the Beaumont track in California, witnessed the umpteenth evidence of the overwhelming superiority of the Californian Gary Carlton and the couple CRG - Maxter: the driver of the PCH race team easily conducted the competition on Saturday , managing his lead till he crossed first the finishing line. The Sunday final on the contrary confirmed once again his stunning driving skills: just a few laps before the end of the race Carlton was second and while he was overtaking his competitor they both went out of the track, but thanks to his great professionalism our driver immediately came back to the race on the first position. Thanks to these two victories Gary confirmed himself as the absolute winner of the West Stars of Karting championship.

Great performance also for the Wonderbar Team driver Fritz Leesmann, a rising star who conquered two well-deserved third places.

In ICA class, the Cameron Motorsports driver Cody Jolly achieved a wonderful second place in the Saturday race, missing by a hair's breadth the victory the following day because of an unfortunate accident happened during the last lap.

Also the JICA class is a source of big satisfaction: the young driver Miles Maroney conquered twice the victory, Saturday with a bit of luck by his side, while Sunday he had to show all his great driving abilities to get on the first step of the podium.

JONATHAN THONON WINS THE WORLD CUP KZ1!!!!!!

On the International Circuit of Sarno our Belgian champion Thonon showed a stunning demonstration of his superiority: after winning all the qualification and preliminary heats , Jonathan dominated also the prefinal, being the first to cross the finishing line thanks to a faultless performance.

Due to a little hitch happened just after starting the final, he was second at the beginning of the first lap, but thanks to an incredible overtaking at the end of the straight our driver regained the head of the race and then he managed his advantage as a great professional for the subsequent 17 laps, until he crossed triumphant the finishing line.

Jonathan made also the best lap, in 1:03.985.

On the contrary it has been an unlucky weekend for the last appointment of the European championship KZ2, where the driver of the DR racing team Kazimieras Vasiliauskas stood out at the beginning as the absolute master, but due to a weight problem caused by the high temperatures of the weekend he has been disqualified, so his race has been irremediably compromised.

Starting 14th in the prefinal, he succeeded at first to catch up till the 4th position, but during an attack to the third place an accident took him again at the end of the group. Despite the bad luck the Lithuanian driver, 19th on the starting grid of the final, made a wonderful recovery till the 5th position, achieving the best times in both the finals.

Due to these unfortunate events, the CRG expectations turned all to the Dutch driver Rick Dreezen

The driver of the CRG Holland race team, after a few problems in the prefinal that forced him to start from the 3rd row, made a fantastic comeback to the second place, missing for just a few points the top of the table. Thanks to this great performance he qualified vice European champion at his first participation in the championship.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES AT THE CANADIAN KARTING CHAMPIONSHIPS

FOR PSL KARTING TEAM

Montreal, Canada – August 9, 2007 – The best drivers and karting teams competed last weekend in the Canadian Karting Championships held in Hamilton, Ontario. The PSL Karting team won the trophy for the best team, and also collected five podiums, including three Canadian titles and two runner-up titles. The PSL Karting team and three of their drivers will compete next November in the prestigious Rotax Max World Championships held in Dubai.

The PSL Karting team clinched two titles in the Rotax Max Junior category. Quebec City's Michaël Grenier and Valleyfield's Mathieu Bourgouin performed well under intense pressure and respectively captured the Canadian title and the runner-up position. The two drivers will now be invited to compete in the Rotax Max World Finals.

Team PSL Karting and veteran driver Luc Sauriol from Montreal, Quebec then won the Canadian title in the Master category. Sauriol will also represent Canada in November in Dubai. “To be forced to run in the repechage heat before clinching the Canadian title is quite an accomplishment! This victory also provides me with a participation in the World Finals to be held held in Dubai. It feels incredible!” Sauriol explains. “The rain helped me catch up with the leaders near the end of the race.”

Jake Rosenzweig (PSL Karting / CRG) was crowned Canadian Formula ICC National Champion . Rosenzweig impressively added the Canadian title to his earlier ICA FWT Championship victory. Rosenzweig, who was nursing a rib injury from the first competitive heat on Friday, had earlier finished the pre-final in third position behind Vincec and Fox. In the final Rosenzweig got a great start from the second row and took the lead going into turn one, never looking back. In the wet conditions he laid down the fastest lap of the race 1.03.394 and consistently took a second per lap out of the competition. Rosenzweig stayed clear of the back markers as he lapped part of the field and took the checkered flag by a convincing ten second margin.

In the 4-stroke Senior category, Ontario's Steven Mathew won the Canadian runner-up title behind the wheel of the new chassis (PSL RS4) specifically developed by PSL karting and manufactured by CRG. PSL Karting showed the impressive performance of this new chassis designed exclusively for North-American events.

“We experienced another productive championship, mentioned Dominic Labrecque, owner of PSL Karting. I am very satisfied with the performances of our drivers and the work achieved by the race team. It is with pride that we all left Hamilton with the trophy awarded to best team of the championship.”

On a final note, young Quebec racing driver Kevin Lacroix, who has just signed an agreement to race in the Atlantic Champ Car series in 2008 with the Walker Racing team, learned the ropes with PSL Karting when he was racing karts.

2006 CIK-FIA World Karting Championship and World Cup FA & ICA: Jonathan Thonon and Rick Dreezen on the podium

The weekend of Jonathan Thonon started off on the wrong foot: due to the presence of water in his fuel, he was only able to qualify 25 th . Once his fuel was changed he brilliantly recovered: starting from the 13th position he rapidly gained the number three slot, a forth and a second place in the three qualifying matches and demonstrating to be the fastest driver on the track regardless of his more accredited adversaries.

Thanks to his optimum performances, at the end of the time trials on Saturday the Belgian pilot was already in contention as the favourite to win the title. Unfortunately on Sunday the weather played against him, creating problems in the prefinals, which he nevertheless obtained the number three position, next to his team mate Alexander Sims, in command the entire prefinal placing first position after a superb performance and rounding off the field of CRG was Guignet arriving 5 th . Another driver being recognized as a potential match winner was Jules Bianchi (Maranello Kart) who arrived second in the prefinal.

In the first half of the afternoon the climatic conditions seemed drastically improved, so much so that the drivers had changed to slick tires and a dry setup. Shortly after the start of the final the climatic conditions took a turn for the worst with torrential rains flooding the track and creating extreme technical difficulties and changing the circumstances of the race. The incomprehensible rules imposed by the federation only take into account the substitution of the tires and not taking into consideration all the other technical preparation to the chassis. For this reason, the first ranked driver in the prefinals Sims found his engine submersed in water and was forced to withdraw at the first turn and even the drivers Guignet and Thonon had the same problem but fortunately to a lesser degree.

Thanks to the ability of Jonathan Thonon he was able to stay with the front group of drivers and obtain the third podium spot. Jonathan excellent showing unfortunately doest not reflect the true potential he was able to achieve.

Great show even for Rick Dreezen: after a spectacular recovery from the 15 th spot to the 5 th in the prefinals, the driver from C.R.G. Holland qualified third in the ICA World Cup notwithstanding an accident which set him back many positions was still able to make a great showing and gain a podium spot.
